The Meandering Fork is a foodie's travel blog. A foodie is defined as a gourmet in the culinary fast lane; a person who enjoys cooking and anything do to with food. I am of Italian heritage and so it goes without saying that I enjoy everything to do with food, wine and sharing the delights of a well conceived, prepared and presented meal.
I'm a member of Slow Food and a locavore (meaning I try to eat locally and in season), and a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (since 1991). Though I've been been involved professionally in the food and wine industries since 1981, on a personal level, I'm passionate about the subject and when not cooking you can find me curled up with a book about food or wine. Another delight - sharing recipes, especially with my son, the Renaissance man, who is a creative and versatile cook in his own right and came up with the blog's name to suggest eating as central to all travel. You are welcome to follow my journey.
